BEHIND THE SONG:
The main riff of this song was written on a 12-string down in Wadley Georgia back around 2012. The lyrics were inspired by my daughter’s childhood friend who lived next door. When she moved away suddenly, my daughter couldn’t say a proper goodbye. I aimed to capture the emotions of losing a childhood friend, drawing from my own experience when I was around 6 years old and had to move away from my best friend at the time.
The main bones of the song were recorded in Wadley but (as usual) it took a while to finally get this song finally arranged and completed. Big thanks to Frunkie le Bassist for making a very sweet and melodic bass line (especially during the bridge) and some great drums by Magic Mike to keep the rhythm knocking along. I'm very happy and proud of this song, and hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.
